Personal statement of digital story

In the modern life, as tech developing, people spend increasing time on the phone. Social media became the most efficient way to connect and interact with friends. However, over using social media could leads to many problems. Thus, in our digital story, we will create campaigns to show the current status and appeal people reasonably use social media.

More specific, we will interview three people who can represent three group of social media user on Facebook live page, and post the main content on 2 main media channels, Twitter and Facebook. For the interview, there must be some situations need to be considered, like interview targets’ schedule, collecting voice and no question from audiences, so prepare plan B for different situation is necessary.

At first, we plan to operate a fake Instagram account in an exaggerated way, post fake photos and pretend a luxury and wonderful, to stimulate a social media user wants to be more popular. After a while time, the followers and affection of the account can be the object to research the users’ behavior and mental. However, there is only one channel , and it is not sure about the result of our account. Also, the audience mental always is a hard part to measure. In this case, the interviews and interact with users on social media more easy to know them a lot.

In the process of creating a website, there are lots things to do. Firstly, we need to design the structure, and the picture, word form, background color and the topic need match with each other. Then, post the blog of proposal and video pitch. It is important to reference everything that we use in web.

About the vide pitch, we plan to present five mine parts of our topic, what is social media(Ishan); who are users of social media(Joe); problems of over using social media(me); campaign plan and end goal(Miguel) . We try to keep the content simple, and only leave the important points. We take five silent original videos in one day, and record voices in addition. As for editing video, which is my main job, combine the videos and match with voices. The reason why we act silent videos is that we don’t have microphone, without it, the sound of video will be very noisy. During editing, it is cannot be that the tone of voice need be same, and the background music make the video more vivid. At beginning, the end words be overlooked, so it is wired the video stop in sudden. Thus, the begin words and end words are essential as main content to make the video as whole.

For the blog, the readers and audiences cannot be ignored, but there is no statistics or big data of reader in the website. It will be hard to know readers well and cannot reach target audience easily. Probably, we need to find a website or a software to statics and analyse audience, then find the beat approach to touch them.

In addition, if our website want to be an effective blog, a quantity of followers and readers are necessary. In this case, the propaganda can be helpful. The traditional ads costs lots of money, so we may need to find another way to let people know our blog, such as informing by friends in social media, delivering flyer or presenting in class or clubs.
